Legal Helpers is trying to avoid FTC Regulations
Some of our respected readers have gone down the road of taking their debts to lawyers, but now they realize why they should avoid the legal model.Legal Helpers is a debt resolution law firm that claims to determine the best option for handling large amounts of unsecured consumer debt. The problem with utilizing Legal Helpers is that often times the consumer has been unable to contact the lawyer that is negotiating the debt and they end up talking to a sales representative. There has to be some kind of direct communication between the client and negotiator, as messages get confused on the way. Any company that does not allow the client to talk directly with the negotiator is not effective.
Our readers have also contacted us regarding Legal Helpers charging fees upfront; this goes against FTC laws and is not in the best interest of clients. Legal Helpers claims they are a law firm and therefore exempt from this law. In reality, any company, law firm or not, performing the service of debt settlement is subject to this law. Our advice at debt settlement consumer protection is to avoid using the legal model and work with someone who cares about you and is willing to speak directly with you to answer your questions and settle your debt once and for all.
